球员的球挂在树枝上球杆够不到的位置处。球员为了把球撞出，用球杆朝较低位置的树枝进行挥杆，结果球掉到了地上。球员算打了一杆吗？
不算。因为球员没有进行击球(参看 “击球”之定义)。按照规则18-2a球员受罚一杆的处罚（球员移动静止中的球）并必须重新放置球。
因为球所在的位置不可及，球亦无法被重新放置，所以球员必须按照不能打之球规则，受加罚一杆的处罚 。
Striking at Tree Branch to Move Ball Lodged Higher in Branch
A player’s ball is lodged in a tree branch beyond the reach of a club. The player swings at a lower part of the branch with a club for the purpose of dislodging the ball, the ball falls to the ground. Has the player made a stroke?
No, because the player did not strike at the ball (see Definition of “Stroke”). The player incurred a one-stroke penalty under Rule 18-2a (Ball at Rest Moved by Player) must replace the ball. Since the spot where the ball lay is unreachable the ball therefore cannot be replaced, the player must proceed under the unplayable ball Rule, incurring an additional penalty stroke.
